When you can’t help but to let the smile take over your face, you know it’s a good feeling. That feeling of calmness is soothing and creates a little bit of light in a world that seems pretty dark sometimes. Though this may sound cheesy, I like thinking back to my favorite feelings that brighten up my days and reminds me of how beautiful life actually is.

I came across this popular YouTube tag and thought it’d be fun to do my version of it on the blog.

I don’t know, but it’s something cool and inspiring about hearing what makes people happy. So, these are 10 of my favorite feelings!

1. Cleaning up my apartment on Saturday (late) morning

While there are some weekend mornings where I don’t want to get out of bed, I absolutely love the days where I turn on my favorite tunes, light a few candles, open the blinds, and spend a couple hours cleaning my space spotless.

The smell of all the cleaning products, singing at the top of my lungs, being able to complete something from start to finish – it’s an exhilarating feeling.

2. Figuring out how to do something on my own

I prefer to self-teach rather than ask people for help. It’s been that way for me most of my life, even in grade school. And truthfully, it’s probably because often times when someone shows me how to do something, the information doesn’t stick. That said, I like to do things myself.

“Just Google it.” Ok, no problem. If I don’t know something, I’ll research and research until I can teach myself about it.

I was definitely one of those pre-teens who spent hours and hours coding and designing my own MySpace page (and some of my friends’), rather than seeking help elsewhere.

Personally, I think it’s important to be constantly trying to learn new skills. Living in the Digital Age definitely makes me feel like I can do just about anything I want!

3. Creating wishlists on all of my favorite online stores

I have a confession. . . I absolutely loooovvveeeee to “window shop” on all of my favorite online stores’ websites. It’s my version of temporary retail therapy until I make it to a physical store. In my spare time, I’ll spend time jumping from Pinterest (for ideas) to Amazon to Target to Hobby Lobby to Lulus – you get the point.

It relaxes me and takes my mind off of the day-to-day craziness.

4. Listening to a classic album from beginning to end

There are just some albums I will never get tired of hearing and will probably replay them over & over again until the end of time. There’s just something about a really good album that tells you a story and takes you on a ride.

One of my all time favorite albums is Destiny’s Child’s last piece of art, Destiny Fulfilled. Wow, I could sing every lyric of every song and not miss a beat. It brings out every emotion and by the end I feel like I experienced something magical.

5. Crossing everything off my to-do list

If you know me well in real life, you’ll know I’m somewhere between methodical and irregular. Yes, I procrastinate a lot, but I also create many mental to-do lists for myself. As I’ve gotten older, though, I’ve found that I need calendars more than ever. So those mental lists live elsewhere.

I get a wee bit antsy when I have too many things on my plate, but the moment I mark the last thing as checked is all worth it.

6. When LMAO turns into a real-life moment

I find many things funny, but there are very few times when I actually LMAO. No, not the little chuckle you let out, but laughing until you can hardly breathe with tears coming out of your eyes and your stomach aching. That is the feeling that brings me the ultimate happiness.

I’m usually with my best friend when this usually happens to me. And we’re probably rolling on the floor laughing at a silly memory or some ridiculous joke one of us told the other.

7. Taking a shower at the end of the day

Nothing compares to coming home and washing the day off of your body. It’s not only a physical cleanse but a mental cleanse as well. The steaming hot water and me giving my best rendition of Whitney Houston’s I Have Nothing is a top shower experience (joking, sort of…). It feels like self-care, even if it’s considered a basic thing you just have to do.

8. Falling asleep next to the person I love

Sleep is wonderful, but falling asleep on my boyfriend’s chest makes it 10x better. There’s just something so comforting and securing about being in the arms of the person you love, and it’s such a satisfying feeling to fall asleep to.

9. Jumping into bed after a long, busy day

Though my schedule has eased up a bit over the last few months, I never take for granted the feeling of climbing into bed for rest at the end of the day. I especially love when my day has been jam packed – getting into bed feels like a reward.

There are countless feel-good moments in this crazy life, and these are just some of my favorite feelings.
